Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE)
With today's congested utility easements and right-of-ways, Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) accurately maps underground utilities and structures in the development stage of construction. From utility location, designation, and mapping to vacuum excavation and depth surveys, SUE offers public officials, designers, and contractors the benefits of safety, cost-control, and accuracy.

SUE utilizes a three-dimensional format that identifies the structures and conditions beneath the earth, thus preventing costly accidents and damage to utility lines. To determine the existence of these utilities, SUE uses Metrotech 850 and 960 audio frequency line tracing instruments. These surface geophysical prospecting and remote sensing technologies designate and map utilities. The actual location is then surveyed using client designated or RPA established control points as a datum. The designating information is input into a CADD package of the client's choice including AutoCAD and MicroStation.
